Time for some long overdue Passion!!! Now there are club classics and there are Pure Club Classics – and then there’s this track, which is one of the most important tracks in clubland history and probably one of the most widely played. When it came out in it was hammered by any and every DJ worth his salt. For about 12 months you heard it in every single club you went to and rightly so as it was just such an immense track. With a fantastic atmospheric build up and then when that piano dropped in it was a pure truly magical moment. This was the track that always set the dancefloor alight, the one that everyone loved and one that no matter what time of night, what state of mind, it always just hit the right spot. A truly awesome track!!!

That told me l needed to clarify one thing before I got into this whole sermon: There is noooooooo such thing as a cost-effective way to get your music on the air. Just like in any business, this industry lives on the principle that one has to shell out money to make money. By now just about everyone has heard how Limp Bizkit reverted to a practice that the radio industry wishes us to believe dead, pay-o-la to get their music played.

The band paid some Seattle DJs about ten grand to get into heavy rotation. It was a chance, but it paid off in the long run, and the band has made tens of millions of dollars since. That being said, here it goes: Here are some of the specifics: The answer is rather simple. And make sure that the first track has some energy to it. The radio clean edit, the full-length album version, an acapella version, and an instrumental version.

First of all, never send more than one title per group to a station. You are only insulting a station by sending a current release along with prior material.

Help George Michael general discussion thread George Michael will be honoured with a blue plaque at Bushey Meads School on April 15, while the antics of his partner in later years Fadi Fawaz continue to be a focus of the media. Thought I’d start this as appropriate place for people following the handling of George Michael’s posthumous legacy. Since Fadi Fawaz continues to cause a public stir and that story continues to unfold, I guess discussion about that should be open as well. However, I don’t know if many are very interested in him aside from being GM’s partner.

I don’t see why that should dominate the discussion here on DL, with so many long threads in his name. There is much more to talk about re George Michael than his exes, and still things people are trying to puzzle out. So I thought this thread might be handy for those with interest in GM, when things about Fadi Fawaz are going through a quiet phase.

His duet with Aretha and the “Faith” album are my favorites, though I liked some of his Wham! It’s a shame he so came off the rails personally.
